Company Profile

In a nutshell, My Foto Zone acquires your images digitally and interact closely with you to crop, enhance, fix or alter your image to your satisfaction. We can print on a wide variety of media from paper to canvas to plastics using the latest in inkjet technology to yield what is known as Giclee quality prints (pronounced "jee-clay").

There are several opinions about what comprises a Giclee print. Some claim it is a French word meaning "spray" as in spray paint. Others believe it is a French-sounding word recently invented by an inkjet printer manufacturer to describe a print of such quality that a reputable museum curator would be willing to display it as original or substitute art. At the end of the day though, what counts is that a Giclee print should be of the highest quality and produced to the satisfaction of the artist.

At My Foto Zone, we use HP large format equipment with UV inks and carefully selected media, for prints up to 60 inches wide. For certain medium format prints up to 12 x18 inches on paper media, we use Epson equipment with special archival ink. In both cases we have perfected the match from scan to screen to print to produce exceptional quality work.

Our prints on canvas have become a favorite of our clients and with very good reason. We have overcome probably the biggest headache others have when using UV inks. Typically UV inks place a major limit on suitable media where color matching is very difficult. We have however "hit the sweet spot" as our customers can attest to. We also use a number of special treatments to enhance the archival quality of the prints which include a finishing layer of hand applied varnish. For example, the varnish leaves a brush stroke that brings a new and beautiful dimension to photographic art.
